Choosing the right service is an important step when committing to an Autism or ADHD assessment. Our doctors are committed and compassionate Clinical Psychologists who founded WMAAAS through their own personal values in offering a neurodivergent-affirmative approach without significant waiting times.

Dr Laura is a registered clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience providing psychological assessments and interventions. She is registered and regulated by the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and is entitled to use the legally protected title 'practitioner psychologist'. Laura co-founded West Midlands Autism and ADHD Assessment Service following work within both NHS and private mental health settings where she formed a specialist interest in understanding and supporting the impact of neurodiversity on her clients' lives.
Laura has a specialist interest in compensatory behaviours (e.g. masking) and raising awareness about the barriers to diagnosis in females.
Laura seeks to foster a narrative of acceptance and understanding, where differences are not immediately viewed as deficits. Through the assessment process, Laura is committed to identifying both her clients' strengths, as well as needs.
Laura says:
"Throughout my career, I have worked with clients across the lifespan who have felt different, misunderstood, or unable to fully explain their experiences. For many, understanding their neurodiversity has brought clarity, validation, and a renewed sense of self.
Awareness of neurodiversity is improving. However, public diagnostic services in the UK remain significantly under-resourced, resulting in lengthy waiting times for assessment. I have often shared in my clients’ frustration when delays in accessing a diagnostic pathway have prevented timely support, appropriate adjustments, and meaningful care.
Recent research from Bournemouth University has highlighted the serious mental health impact of prolonged waiting lists, including increased suicide risk among autistic individuals who are unable to access timely recognition of their needs.
In private practice, I deeply value the opportunity to expedite the assessment process and to offer each client the time, care, and compassion they so rightly deserve."

Dr Victoria is also a trained and accredited doctor (consultant clinical psychologist) within the field of Clinical Psychology. She is registered and regulated by the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and is entitled to use the legally protected title 'practitioner psychologist'. Victoria has been providing psychological assessments and interventions in a clinical setting for the past 25 years. Victoria is the joint co-director of West Midlands Autism and ADHD Assessment Service. She co-developed this company from her experience as a Lead Clinical Psychologist within a hospital psychology department and her private work within the field of mental health.
Victoria has particular experience of working with individuals to help them to ascertain whether neurodiversity may be relevant in their lives, whether there are alternative explanations for particular symptoms that an individual is experiencing and to generally gain an increased understanding and awareness of themselves. Common to this has been working therapeutically with those who experience relationship or social difficulties, those who feel confused about their current emotions and those who are generally struggling to navigate their current lives.
